Classic British Flight Sim

I am thinking of buying a cheap digital camcorder, ideally with an SD card. Anybody got any thoughts on the subject? I want to keep to under 130 quid if possible.

You don't want much do you Trev.. a decent digital camcorder for less than £130 I want a new ZX10 Kwak for £130 too and doubt I could get one off the back of a lorry for that price!

Decide what you can afford (and in this case it's not a lot).. then look for format. Do you want to record on DVD or tape?? Then.. look at the method of transfer from Camcorder to pc for editing. This alone will sort out the wheat from the chaff. This done.. you'll see what's what and can decide from there ;-) Cameras that offer no software usually means that you edit on the camera and this is 'mostly' unsatisfactory.. unless you have 40/40 vision and in your case.. age is against you (and yes.. I know there's no such thing as 40/40 vision)

It might have been better to consider this sort of thing around Christmas time as my Canon had dropped by £100 :roll:

Thanks guys, I have seen a few on Amazon and the tape ones seem better on the features department, but I like the idea that you can use an SD card, rather than tape.
Amazon have this one for 50 quid!

Thanks, but I have a small compact that will do some video. I was after something a little easier to use than a pocket compact.

Be wary of cheap camcorders such as the vivitar, they often offer great quality on the box, but rarely deliver!

I would steer clear of vivitar as they have just about the worst build quality I've ever seen!

I used to work in a camera shop between finishing university and going professional as a photographer and about half the cheap camcorders (Vivitar and others) we sold ended up going back where they came from!

If you want a reasonably good camcorder at not too bad a price I'd have a look at the Sanyo CA-6.

Ok so its at the top end at about 130 but for what it is its quite good quality, accepts SD Cards, has a rechargable battery and its waterproof.

Of all the budget range SD Camcorders this would be the best I've seen!

EDIT: Just to add to the above, if you decide on one of the cheaper ones, then you might be lucky, or you might end up buying another one.

Hi guys, no my internet connection has been hopeless (its the same for many us in the area at the moment on a radio connection) so I have not wanted to lose a connection halfway through a transaction.
I rather like the Sanyo CA-6 but it is more than I wanted to pay. I just wonder if my use of the camera can justify 150 quid when bought with a 4 gig SD card? :think:
