The last day of 2007 and I have been wondering what New Year Resolution I could come up with that hasn't already been tried and broken in the past

Well, I have found one....it is one that cannot be broken so I will not end up dissapointing myself or my wife...It is...No New Year Resolution.

Remember when I was in my teens and my parents had gone out to a New Year Party, this was the very first time I had seen in the so-called magic hour. There I was, sat in front of the television as it showed Big Ben about to strike, crowds of people stood around waiting to celebrate and thought something magical was going to happen........WRONG!!!! Boy, what a let down :-( Switched off and went straight to bed!!

What are your memories of seeing in your very first New Year, were you dissapointed or did you even remember that night?

Nigel.

I remember dark-haired relatives walking out the back door and coming in the front with a slice of bread and a lump of coal...it seemed like an important thing to do at the time

Similar to you Nigel

1965 became 1966 according to the lit up display on the TV.

As it happened I looked up and out the window as if some line or marker or something was to flash past like the page flicking over in a book :dunno:

Nothing happened at all................as you say a big let down
