Stansted Extreme

Hi Guy's..
I thought I'd posted this earlier but I can't find it now so if anyone has seen me mention it before, let me know and I'll delete this thread ;-)
Those of you with UK2000 Stansted Extreme may get a 'aircraft not at designated airport' warning if you start a VA flight from the runway.. particularly the northerly rwy. Should this happen.. edge the aircraft forward 20ft or so and try again. All will now be ok and if not.. edge forward a wee bit more ;-)

Hi Dave,
That's 'extreme'ly odd as there doesn't appear to be anything in the vicinity of EGSS which would cause that problem. FlyNET reads your lat/lon with FSUIPC and compares it with the FlyNET database of airports and declares you at the closest airport to your lat/lon. Scenery files shouldn't have any affect on that. An odd one for sure.
Edit : Whilst skulking around in the vicinity I noticed that FlyNET shows Hatfield EGTH as being 7.1nm from EGSS. A quick looksee and someone had declared it's longitude as Deg E instead of Deg W so I've rectified that with an edit submission - not that anyone flies in/out EGTH.

Cheers John.. tks for checking that out ;-) Having had the same problem at Basle.. I didn't panic and was surprised how little I had to move before FlyNET accepted my location.

Never had it with the standard UK2000 version so was a little surprised to see it with the extreme edition. I don't fly out of there very often though and perhaps someones had a fiddle with EGTH in the meantime ;-)

Hi Dave
That misplaced airport shouldn't have made any affect as it would still have been further away from EGSS than you would have been. Bit of a mystery.

As I thought John  When I've finished my stint in the Vanguard (and if tonight is anything to go by, it'll be shorter rather than longer as FlyNET keeps disappearing - one flight lost!).. I'll get back to SS and try it again
