Hi have been using Norton AV now for many years with no problems. I am just wondering if any of you consider
there is anything better out there now that isn't such a resource hog but does the same if not better.

Norton now is using 16 processes in XPP, I hear a lot about AVG........so any help would be appreciated

Thanks

I would think the answer from most is just about everything is better than Nortons

I use AVGfree and that seems to do the trick :)

Problem with uninstalling Nortons is making sure you have go rid of it all :-(

Norton and Mcafee are very poor as are most of the free ones like AVG and Avast.

I know Ben thinks very highly of Trend and I always go for NOD32 or Kaspersky. Kaspersky have got a 50% off promotion at the moment as well.

CB is a man of few words, but they are usually very good words. Check out this link for regular comparison reports of antivirus programs.

http://www.av-comparatives.org/ and click on the 'comparatives' link for a results table.

Of all the major AVs only two achieved 'Advanced+' certification level. Kaspersky and Nod32.......

It's on the UK Kaspersky site. I see the US have no offers at present. Kaspersky Internet Security is £18 (apx $32) and Anti Virus £12 (apx $24).
