Classic British Flight Sim

ok guys, need some help here

just upgraded my Pc to an AMD2 Dual Core 4000+, with 2GB DDR2 Ram, and Nvidia 6100 256MB graphics

now, re-installed XP,and FS9 and FSX

on running FS9 or FSX, my sims are way too fast!

if i look at the time clock in the cockpit, then it updates 4 secs in every real second, so theoretically, it is running 4x too fast. if i take of in the cessna, it goes from standing to 90knts in 1 second

this is the same in FSX. the only way to control it, is to select the SLOWEST speed option from the top menu.

does anyone know what is causing this, as FS is unplayable like this, and is driving me mad!!!

First it works too slow, now it's too fast...will you please make up your mind !



When you say you reinstalled XP, I presume you're talking about a complete clean build up, so no installing on top of a previous install, likewise with the FS'es?

I suppose you made a format C, before or right after upgrading your PC? (depending on which parts you upgraded of course.

yes, it is a CLEAN new build, new board, CPU, memory, and hard drive, so all NEW AND CLEAN

Sorry I haven't seen this kind of behaviour since old days, where old DOS-games suddenly ran hay-ride on a system with a "mathematical co-processor".....

really odd... and it is only FS that behaves like this? all other programs acts normally?

FS is th eonly games i have installed so far, all other windows programs seem fine

Try reinstalling them (yes I know it's a worn out help-desk phrase.... :roll: )

Start with one of them, including SP's et al, and try it before installing the next.......

done that already, changed grahics drivers, still the same

i think the next step is to change the graphics card and see if that does anything

you havent got the sim speed rates at 4x have you?

no, i aint that stupid... STUPID

set to NORMAL, changing it to SLOWEST seem to make it about the right speed
