I doubt if they would be allowed on our local roads due to that front canard posing a danger to pedestrians.

It's an old idea doomed to failure like all the other gone before it.

Another thing is they would have to fly from airports.

The impression is that to avoid traffic you take to the air but you can do the same now that is drive to an airport and fly. You can't have these flying from roads so the object is defeated.

Hi Guys

Nothing new

it was done in the 50's through to 70's but proved to be just too fiddly & expensive.

I may be one of the first in line. I live close to an airport and my office is close to another, takeoff and land at the airports, drive from the airport to the office, save 20 or maybe 30 minutes on my commute for the same amount of gas as I use now on my SUV.

There will be uses for it. I don't think the design team has any illusions that it will be anything other than a small market. They don't seem to be trying to replace the car, just give a new option to people who have the means and cause to use one like those who live in airparks (i.e. Fly-in communities) or in more remote areas where they have to go long distances to get to services. In my mind, it's one of the ultimate expressions of the idea of the Light Sport category the FAA put in place.
