That aircraft is powered by a Zanussi Aquacycle 1200.. I'd know that sound anywhere

I think you have misunderstood the gesture. Clearly the pilot had been a boy scout , and was trying to assess the local wind strength

Ummm I'm currently doing a lot of flying in a Wilga these days. Not sure if we could get away with that over the A30 or A38!!
