Wow John

Really impressive when you see them all together like that.

Are you doing G-APML ex Martin Baker still in a basic Transair type livery .....like British United with the blue cheat outlined and a highly polished underside as it had been a company hack for Martin Baker.

It did serve AA for a short time with AA titles on the fuse at least and then it was withdrawn :-(

One of the smartest Daks I ever saw glistening in the sinlihght at Jersey CI  :)

Lovely mate :) Quick question though....on G-AMPZ why the 2 markings ? Was she run on the civil register with that repaint mate ? Civ and Mil ?

Sorry just inquisitive :)

Hi Techy

That's RAF marking for airshow work.

She still has to carry her civil registration.....the military serial is not valid.

For film work they can fly without the civil reg but it must be worn somwhere inside and sometime it is carried very small where it is not easily seen  ........defeats the object really

A famous case was Intra Dakota G-AKNB that spent the week filming as a wartime RAF Dak (FD789) and at weekends went back into service for Intra in cammo and D day invasion stripes and the reg G-AKNB taped on the rear fuse. :o

I think theres something on the CAA register now where, or example an ex mil aircraft can wear her mil markings without having to wear her G- reg on the outside... I'll see if I can dig out the article... of course... I may have mis read it completely!

Tha could well be the case now Ben as Identities of aircraft are well recorded.

When the registration system was started that was the only way to keep track but there is so much paperwork now and electronic flight planning and data storagte that it can easily be cross referenced nowadays.

Chaps,

CAA Publication CAP523 details . . . . I only skimmed it but it seems excemptions can be granted, as long as it's not a foreign registration.

Cheers
