The sky was full of Merlins and Griffons - 6 Spitfires, 2 Hurricanes and a Buchon with a couple of Bf108s making up the numbers. it was great fun until something to the West caught my eye and I looked across the runway to be greeted with a never-to-be-forgotten sight of a Hurricane in a vertical dive. Fortunately for me, the actual impact was behind the tree-line and for a second or two as there was no noise or smoke, I thought that the impossible had happened and he may have just pulled up behind the trees but then there was a loud bang and a huge pall of smoke. The show carried on but, somehow, it all seemed rather meaningless after the crash and I left soon afterwards.

These aren't the photos I was planning to post but..

A rather sad Pete.

Very Sad Pete But i must say with that first photo you done him proud mate......Airplane crashes in there very nature are hard to witness and in my time in the RAF i witnessed 3 and you never get used to seeing the brutality of it , in my present job i witness horrific things on an almost daily basis and whilst wishing no one any ill will you do get used to it.
If you drink Pete have a large one and toast the pilot and try to process your thoughts and soon , one day you will be able to put that image into a small part of your brain that very rarely gets to see the light of day......

All the best.
