Tonka?

A quick question if ya'll don't mind. Alphasim will soon release their Panavia Tornado. My question is how did the Tornado get the nickname "Tonka"? Just wondering.

As with most RAF 'nicknames', 'twas invented by the groundcrew....nothing to do with the 'Tonka' brand of toys....maybe!
