CBFSVA client for FSX?

Hi all
With the introduction of SimConnect for FSX it has become relative easy to make a client that exchanges all kind of variables in and out form the sim
I am currently investigating the possibilities with SimConnect with the thought of a CBFSVA client in mind.
Pros will be that it don't rely on FSUIPC, and the development will be "in house" of CBFS and therefore most all wishes could relatively easy be implemented
Cons is that it will be for FSX only, and that a new database has to be made....
Along this there will of course also be a need for some kind of DB administration tool(s) including management of the DB and a site to present the data......
Thoughts please?

Hi Dan
I think the FS.X only is a major block
Whay can it not ne for FS.9 as well?

Because the way SimConnect works together with FS is new, implemented from FSX an onwards... FS9, doesn't have the interface that SimConnect can use... sorry.

No problem, that is the non-technical version.... the SDK contains a much more fulfilling explanation...

I bet it does.
Nah
My main interest and I'm sure others that would wonder the same is ......was it something that was not possible or just something they didn't want to do.
Clearly is is a technical reason

Hi Dan,
There's no doubting we have the expertise here to produce our own VA Client.. I'm not sure we have the willingness to 'go over' to the new sim though  I'm fully aware that FSX is 'the future'.. for want of a better term but there are many out there in flightsimland that still prefer 'the old dog'.. me included and the reasons for hanging on are many and far outweigh it's abandonment, just yet.
I don't like it enough to move yet mate and that's the bottom line. The default airports are really no better than they were in FS9 and without the likes of UK2000, the default flightsim world is as uninteresting as it ever was. My system refuses to run GenX so the UK.. where most of my flying is done.. looks like any other part of the default flightsim world, boring! The default flightplanner is, as far as I've seen, identical to the FS9 version and although programs like FSC8 work in FSX, it is not a patch on FSNavigator and I find it a chore to use. Another reason not to move.
Sri this all sounds negative but that's how I'm seeing FSX at the moment (and I've not added anywhere near as many negatives as I could)

I
have done VA flights in FSX while testing DG's latest Rapide and I suppose that should push come to shove.. I'd be prepared to continue using that particular aircraft for VA flights in FSX but I'm not ready to use anything else while they're still not FSX generic. Everything works in FS9 and works well. The only problem we have is FlyNET.. inparticular, the administrators of FlyNET who unashamedly tw@tted off on vacation for a few months leaving it to it's own devices and ultimate collapse!! Come mid September, there'll be pages of apologies and we'll be back up again.. or not.. I dunno

While it's administrators have their failings.. the systems ability (through FSUIPC) to run either version of the sim is still a big bonus as far as I'm concerned. I'd be happier for any 'in house' compiled VA to be as tolerant ;-)
My few quids worth

Thank you Dave. I'll take all comments into consideration, and have a client fixed and ready in year 2034
Everybody MUST have converted at that time

........ maybe not :doho:

Yes Dan
For sure, by 2034 we will all be on FS.X.............but the rest of the world will be on FS.XX except Australia which is due to have their own version, FS.XXXX.
