nearly finished this repaint, mrk 2 version . need advice on how to align the name and reg number with the leading edge. as the photo shows at this time, with my knowledge it looks awful and i don't know what to do to change it. any help would be very welcome.

Ahoy there skipper, things aren't looking so bad. But I agree that the reg and name could be tilted a wee bit. ;-) My first question then is which grafical program are you using to edit the textures. Is it Photoshop or PSP, or is it mspaint? That will at least give an idea as to where to start guiding you on the path to perfection. :)

You need to rotate that layer....but check the real aircraft

Sometimes they were like that............don't know about Aer Lingus

Chances are it will be a part rotation so might not be paralel to the wing le

first thing first i'am using photoshop 6, very old but given to me for free. legal copy i must add.
i have a photo of aer lingus sent to me that show the name and reg number in the positon of two panels back from the wing edge. approx where i have it started now but runs along the rivet line, in line with the wing edge. i wish i could show you the actual real photo but copy right stops me.
