Almost any overflying aircraft is a 1D-80 according to her (she once saw a MD-80 taking off)

Our son begs every now and the to take a father/son trip out to the end of the RWY at either EKRK or EKCH

The fat guy with the diminishing hairline is yours faithfully.

Isnt it a wonderful thing when they catch the bug Dan??

Tags latest thing is red biplanes (he has five) after seeing a gorgeous Stearman potter over the house

Indeed Leif.

Princess has always had it, and I think the big turnaround was the very first F/S trip where we stood right under the flightpath towards 04L.

Lovely silent summer evening, not a sound other than a few swallows here and there.

Our son walked to an from and then said "when are we going home...?" :roll:
Princess was a bit more patient.

"Just wait a few moments", I said. And suddenly he spotted a black dot right under the clouds in the far distance.

"There's one" I said, And we walked over to stand right in the middle of the rails.

As he came nearer it became obvious (to me) that it was a 744. Not a bad one to stand approx 50-70 meters under on your first spotting trip! :yipeee:

Soon followed by a A340 and a MD11 .... the rest were some MD's, ATR's and DCH8's.... finally a A330 which closed the day for us. :tonqe:

Earlier that day the pilot in a Sikorsky 61 from RDAF waved to them at EKRK..... :shock:

What a day for a couple of kids ;-)

From then on they has been lost. tonka

I live a short distance from the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton..

My 5 year old Sam and I have a deal...he can pull 50 G's in the Sea Venom as long as I can go and take some photos
