AI Contrail problems?

This appears to have recently started randomly and it affects all of my AI aircraft. Whilst they exhibit a fairly normal contrail at high altitude they also have a second which rather than going in a straight line curves down in an arc until it touches the ground. This proceeds to scoot along the ground following the aircraft. Has anyone experienced this before? It's driving me insane at the moment as my skies are chock full of Tantris/Adobe AI.

Sadly I have... I think I removed all my effects files, and reinstalled the default (I think)... if it's a recent thing, do a date modified on your effects folder and it might give you a better clue as to what's at fault
Kind regards

It's an old problem, something has overwritten your effects file for contrails. Just replace the offending .fx file with the original from your FS9 CD.

Hi Folks
Chris -
Are the extra contrails definitely from the AI ?
In the screenie they would appear to be from the user a/c's position.
Did you possibly
slew to that position to take the screenie ?
If this is in FSX,
not sure about contrails,
but applies to ground or water effects.
If you've entered slew mode whilst on the ground/water,
changed elevation, then exited slew mode,
the ground/water effects 'stick' to your a/c.
The same may possibly apply to contrails,
i.e.
on entering slew mode,
they've stuck to your a/c.

The contrails were definately AI, both sets would originate from the AI aircraft, except one would be horizontal and normal and the other would curve down towards the ground.
Anyway, replacing the contrail effects with those on the FS9 disc did the trick. Thanks for the help everyone.

As I said, it's a well known problem with FS9, the contrails split causing this
really irritating effect.
Glad you got it sorted though Chris.
