Tks for that Trev. $20 spent and the end result isn't bad at all. Certainly the best Hurricane I know of  Only spent a few mins in it up to now as I need to get a York from CDG to Manchester but thus far, I like what I see

Once again Trev, thank-you very much indeed for the heads up. I’d been watching this one develop and based on the screen shots it really did look to be the best Hurricane out there. To get it at a discount makes it all the more sweeter.

A very pleasant surprise for me was that one of the paint schemes included is that of R4118. Ever since reading the fantastic book of the same name (which chronicles the discovery in India, retrieval and restoration to flight of this Battle of Britain survivor) I’d wanted an FS model of R4118. I’m really chuffed that I’ve now got one. (where’s the ‘dance’ smiliey when you want it!?! )

So well done Trev, you’ve managed to prise me out of the cockpit of my trusty Hampden (at least for a short while!!!).

Alex

P.S. Here's a link to the book I mentioned it’s a truly fascinating read which I thoroughly recommend:

How does it compare to the Robert Sanderson freeware frame hogger Hurricane 2d model? I see Robert is credited for the gauges.

Hi Trev,

I've only tried it on my XP3200 (it has one of those dreaded Flight1 wrappers so dragging it from one pc to another probably won't work) but on this, it runs as well as the PD Spit and any similar aircraft of this ilk. No noticeable frame hit at all mate

I've not had a chance to look at it in detail (there are a lot of model variations included albeit Mk1 and Mk2) but there should be something there for every 'Hurri' fan  Spinner looks just a bit too round on the one Mk1 I've looked at (a depiction of DB's famous aircraft) but it looks there or thereabouts on the Mk2 headbanger I looked at (desert filters and fahookin big bangers on each wing). Unfortunately, I'm still not seeing my spinning aircraft in the 'Choose Aircraft' window so it's going to be a tedious full load in the sim of each individual aircraft to check them all out but the two I've looked at thus far look ok. You know me and VC's.. I simply don't like em.. but a brief look at one see's all the usual bits there. I don't think it's to the same standard as the PD Spit XVI or the defacto yardstick.. the RealAir Spit but I have only had a quick look and I'm sure there's a lot more there than I've seen so far

It's really not fair to comment much more matey as I've not spent that much time in it but I can say that it's the best Hurricane I've been in and $20.95USD isn't a bad asking price for what you get  This price goes up by $5 in a day and a bit so strike while the iron is hot

Dave, aircraft not being seen in the preview pane is a sign that the AA level is not being recognised. You can go to one of the simpler modes for viewing. 4x works..

Hi Simon,

Tks for that matey. I know it's a know prob and I saw it first with a 6600GT I bought a few years back. Unfortunately, going up or down is having no effect on this 6800GT.. infuriating, very infuriating :brick:

On my system I find hitting Alt/Enter brings the aircraft selection screen up O/K. Select the aircraft and hit Alt/Enter again to bring full screen up. Saves having to faff around changing AA back and forth.
