And if they kept the footage you may well glimpse yours truly climbing out of a Lynx (I'll be getting out of the left hand side). Obviously it's the wrong type of Lynx on the wrong type of ship but that's tv for you!

didn't capture the sheer terror i felt in every AS alert.

Nope

Sheffield, Broadsword & Coventry where the only ones i noticed.

there was a shot at the beginning with I think Black Rover (one of the Rovers) and 2 Frigates but nothing else.

Rick,

Most if not all of the non-archive footage was shot in the SCEXAS during the Thursday War. It is indeed Black Rover, with I think Southampton as the 42 with the film crew on-board Portland. There may have been a rogue Chilean T23 in some shots as well. The archive stuff did seem to all be from '82.
