Forty years ago
the Beatles Album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was released in the US
I remember .. some of it, being only 5 at the time
I remember my older brother and sisters going nuts and
wanting to have mom or dad buy it
NOT IN THIS HOUSE ,... my parents said
the parents lost that one as I remember :gigle:

by the late 70's I was enjoying them in my own right
me and friends would listen for hours.

any of you still have your albums?

I've never been a fan of the Beatles. As a musician I can listen to their compositions and appreciate exactly how unique they are and what makes them stand head and shoulders above the rest. However as music to enjoy I simply can't get into it.

For me that was probably their best album - so many different themes.

In todays music world, it probably seems tame but that was a revolution.

Take a look at what the competition was, and perhaps you'll see what I mean.

It certainly was iconic and came to symbolise the sixties

I loved the Beatles music up to around 1964/65.After that I think they lost the plot. Some of their earlier tracks really capture the atmosphere of my youth.Oh well an old gits memories!!!.ATB EricT
