Thanks for the HU!
Does anyone know if this new version wil work with DM's VC10? If not what has to be done to make it work?

Yea, I will try when I get a chance. In the meantime: Dave if you see this can you shed any light on it?

Hi Nigel
I think the new version of the INS still works the same.
I installed it over the old version and even though I've long since forgotten how to work the thing, it is live and the switches move and things light up. Always a good sign.
From what I saw on their site, it's perhaps only got compatibility problems with software that uses the more techy side of things in their SDK.
I only use the gauges that they provide, so hopefully no problems.

Oh, thanks for that information Dave! I know what you mean about forgetting how it works - that is why is why I mentioned trying it when I get a chance - I have some Civa manual reading to do before diving in. Funny, I don't retain things like I once did, another sign of advancing age.
I have forgotten the others.
There is one file I am going to retain from the old version - DM_VC10.ISD. Obviously it is something to do with the Vic but other than that, I have no clue what that does so RTFM really applies.
Anyway, thanks again for replying, and so promptly. It was rather like rubbing a lamb to summon a genie and being lucky enough that when he appears, he is the VC10 developer genius!

Hmm, you must have summoned a bad genie at some point or burnt your fingers or am I missing the point? Ok it was not the most clever analogy to use on my part - I just wanted to complement Dave for all his hard work!
I have done enough RTFM study to find that the .Isd files are configuration saves. Civa will use the file "default.Isd" unless a specific file is defined in the Panel.cfg file. DM did that hence the specific VC_10.Isd file that I have in my CIVA folder. The file will be recreated if it is not present so removing it won't mess anything up - except loosing the last saved configuration I suppose.

I'm not perfect either, but I seem to remember that there is a difference between a lamb and a lamp ....
In this particular sentence the difference would be substantial, and the outcome equally different........
Anyway I'm just a Dane, don't mind me....
