CBFSVA is pleased to announce acceptance of the Avro York. Thorough trials have been carried out and some modifications made with the help of the manufacturer. Pilots wishing to serve on York routes please tender your TR request to the CEO in the usual manner
Summary of ops and operating instructions
Having flown all 3 York types extensively, the decision was taken to purchase 'Combi' versions as these give the best possible operating profit therefore all York routes/operations are for the 'Combi' aircraft.
Fuelling and FlyNET
There is a problem using 'Standard' mode when refuelling the York in FlyNET on all routes that require more than 2500kg of fuel (this will be many of them). The problem manifests itself in a 'no fuelburn' situation and is to be avoided at all costs and for obvious reasons. An easy solution is to use 'Compare' mode (having fuelled the aircraft yourself beforehand) or 'Detailed' mode. Although 'Detail' has not been tested, it should work fine.
To assist pilots in fuelling the aircraft themselves, here is an explanation of the fuel tank setup as seen in the aircraft fuelling section of the sim.
Left Aux = Left No.2 459.6gal
Left = Left No.3 136.8g
Centre = Centre 696g
Right = Right No.3 136.8g
Right Aux = Right No2 459.6g
Right Tip = Right No.1 542.4g
Left Tip = Left No.1 542.4g
For those of you who wish to use 'Standard' mode exclusively, we have modified the aircraft.cfg to use only 3 tanks and this setup avoids the 'no burn' problem. The modified cfg file can be downloaded HERE . Note that this cfg can be used with ALL refuelling modes but is less authentic than the original tank setup.

The entry above is accurate for a 4hr25min flight of 745nm and assumes a takeoff setting of 3000/+12 followed by a climb of 2650/+7 and finally, a cruise (eco cruise) of 2300/+4. For descent, rpm should be returned to 2650 and boost to -1. These settings comply with the aircrafts flying instructions and York Pilots Notes.
