Cheers John

Always had a soft-spot for the Hudson.. loved my Airfix model of many moons ago  Unless someone comes up and says it's total pony (and I can't see that happening).. it will definately be adorning my hangar  Hope we get a few UK paints!!

thats funny Dave -- so do I - and yes it was the Airfix kit that started it
looks like a nice model too - guess I'll be slipping the plastic as well.

Garry - wasnt the Lodestar Mr Chamberlins transport back and forth to
Berlin?

Googled my own answer

Blimey.. just scrolled down that page and found there ARE UK paints

Garry.. how different is the Lodestar?? Is it simply a Hudson without the dorsal turret or are there more subtle differences

EDIT.. you just answered that question with the phot link

I think the Hudson came about initially by adding a turret to the L-14 and a military fit.

I read something ages ago about them being pushed across the border into Canada then flown to Northern Ireland to have the turret fitted.

This was because the US was not in the war yet....perhaps someone could clarify

I have heard the same story

They were flown from Burbank with a scab patch over the turret postion
to a place very familar to me - Bellingham Washington and as you say 'pushed" - the photos I remember seeing were them being towed tailfirst from Bellingham to Vancouver
- the turrets were built by Candian Car Foundry -
