Roy Rogers rides into town on a shopping trip and purchases a new pair of cowboy boots. After a bit of window shopping, lunch with friends etc. he mounts his horse and heads for home. Noticing its getting a bit late, he decides to camp for the night, and after making a fire and getting out his sleeping bag, he takes off his cowboy boots and sets them by the fire. After a few minutes of admiring them, he falls asleep.
Unbeknown to Roy, on top of the great big boulder next to the camp site, a mountain lion has been watching him. Seeing his chance, the hungry animal moves swiftly down, intent on making a meal of the boots. It bites and tears them to shreds before realizing they don't taste nice, and disappears into the night.
The next morning, Roy awakens and is distraught at the state of his lovely boots. Recognizing the pattern of the tooth marks, he immediately rides back into town, and puts up a wanted poster for the mountain lion, with a reward of $100
Nothing happens for a while, when one day while he's having a lunchtime pint in the saloon, a bounty hunter walks in, deposits the dead mountain lion on the bar and sings....
...wait for it....
....cue Glen Miller orchestra...
Pardon me, Roy ! Is this the cat that chewed your new shoes ?
