Hi Bob..

I'm not sure what the hell is going to happen with the new client mate. The best thing to do is try it and see :)

Hat's off to you for sticking with FSX mate. You might have it working by the time FSXi comes out ;-)

 Solved! It was a simple 3rd. party scenery thing 'round Europe! :o (of all places) that was the culprit... Deactivated it and all is bliss. Actually I now have some VERY nice scenery/texture for the Hawaii from "BlueSkyscenery" (Gottfried Razek). All available at Avsim... Well enough OFFTOPIC

I'll be off to Nadi later on this evening....!
Best Rgds

Still seem to be picking up penalties for odd things. I have picked up 2 for No Parking brake and 1 for over speed on the taxying. The latter is a bit of a laugh as it is very difficult to overspeed whilst taxying a Viking. Also noticed when starting the client it states boarding passengers and gives a speed. Don't like this client. Bring back Flynet.

Further to my previous post.

I find the client hangs.
It does not sound when you collect a penalty, real or Client made, so you do not have the choice of terminating the flight. The penalties I have collected I have only found out after I have ended the flight.

Difficulty getting onto the website to see if anything is wrong.

In fact I am beginning to think the whole thing is c.......

Hi Simon..

It's difficult enough to get off the ground let alone overspeed in a Viking  I understand your frustration mate ;-)

I've just done my first flight on v1.0.2 (Merchantman EGNX to LFRN) and all went according to plan. The flight was correctly paid for cargo.. no penalties picked up. All ran as expected.
I noticed the new 'status' entry on the final 'fly' page and nearly fainted.. the detail had correctly changed on landing. Still no sign of landing speed(fps) or fuel pricing at loading page. I DO hope that both of these are reintroduced.

As with previous incarnations of FSA Client.. v1.0.2 still hasn't got the calculations right for airframe use or flight times. G-APEP started with an overall percentage of 98.8% and this remains at my destination.. much as it would have done on the last FlyNET Client after a good landing. However, the client is STILL only making a fatigue hit on engine no.1. My gear and hull figures remained the same.. engine 1 dropped from 99.42% to 99.20%.. engines 2 3 and 4 remain at 99.42%. This has been reported at FSA so let's hope for a fix in the not too distant.

I'm not sure what's happening with the overspeed Simon. I'll keep an eye out over there to see if anyone else reports. I think one chap has reported a taxi overspeed as he touched down at the end of his flight but I'm not sure if this is related to a parking brake violation prior to takeoff.

Bob,

As far as I know, there is no functionality for the buttons to remove cargo/pay yet, so as with previous client you will be virtually overweight on longer flights.

Dave,
I have decided to work on the 'just because you're not paranoic doesn't mean they're not out to get you' syndrome.

I am being exceptionally careful. On starting the flight landing lights on before I switch on the client. Taxi below 20kts.

On landing taxi to terminal. Parking brake on, engine off, then the landing lights.

Chin up mate.. I feel for you, I really do. As mentioned earlier, I'm hoping that John can remove the previous FSA 'bug' penalties (he being an FSA DB Admin). You've mentioned everything there except starting (opening the client) with your parking brake on. As you now know.. this is reported on the FSA screen. What happens if you don't have it on.. see that in the client then go and put it on, I honestly don't know. I'll try it! :) What happens if you don't have it on and fly is probably a taxi overspeed. Point is.. you weren't getting zapped for this before and I can't see any good reason why you'd do it different in the new client  I notice your last flight was clear (100%) so what the hell it is that wasn't working in the others is a mystery :dunno:

There is no need to start from cold and dark at the gate or end with engines off at the gate.. there really isn't.. unless you want to of course ;-)

I always start at the gate but never cold. Going to have a bash with the Lancastrian tomorrow and see what happens.

Also don't know if the message system is working as I asked John for a couple of TR's the other day and no reply so far.
