Can't resist posting this piccy of a character called "Wilf" who stars in his own saturday night TV show. He gets away with an awful lot...

Anyone onboard at the time and experience this?

Isn't Wilf great !!..........he had his own ships books number and was part of ships company books.

when up on the bridge with the skipper he called him "Big Wilf" it was something to see in real life as Wilf could say things we in the messes couldn't.

In the end the guy that did him received the BEM medal.

He even had his own uniform made, and to think we used to watch that show on wee 14 inch BW tv's on board.

Glad your enjoying the dvd copy of it , long time ago now but great to see.

I remember one of the Jet Jocks was doing his first DL & was going to be diverted if he didn't land on.
Nice Chockheads like Twinkle star of the show, he's still around as is Tom Wilkinson who turns up at Chockhead reunions.

Is that right chockhead !! Uncle Tom still going strong, he must be getting up there these days.

I was chiefs messman for a while, he was a great guy, bought me a pint on more than one occasion.

Do you know of anyone who has a recent pic of him at one of the reunions by chance.

I wonder where Twink is today, I knew him quite well as did we all

Could someone please post the Nav Aids info for the Ark?

Also, are there any animated blast shields on the Ark?

Thanks,

Keith

We did not do any animated JBD's for the Ark Royal, as for the navaids I'm sure there's someone out there that will be able to help on that.

Thanks anyway for the reply Seaking.
I will have a little look into it myself. I also have someone in mind who may be able to offer me some advice in adding nav aids.
I will post any news if there is any progress

Keith,

Nav aids would be awesome, as Seaking said it was not possible to animate the JBD's at the time during development.

The only way around it would be to have one up continually, and that was deemed not a good idea by the three of us.

Happy trapping!

Adding navaids is made so simple even I can do it all you require is Afcad ver 2.21 by Lee Swordey obtainable at Flightsim.com, Avsim.com install it and read the highly detailed instructions which are excellent 3 clicks will get you ILS, VOR and NDB.

The AFCAD for each location is allready with the ship it is just a case of adding what you want to said AFCAD.

Not being mean just trying to get people to have a go as I do, allready at least 2 people involved in relocating stuff after seeing what I did
