Well.. I've said this before and I may end up saying it again but I really do think I've taken G-POLA to the end of my skill and the model will allow. She now wears rather shiney alphas and looks a treat. She also has a pilot wearing dark blue gear (same colour as the livery).. I was pleased to find the pilot isn't included in the PK so I spent an hour getting him how I wanted.. no, he's not how I wanted but he's as far as I can take him due to how he's mapped. I keep going back and adding little things and I should stop really :lol:

This shot shows her left hand side looking blue in sunlight..
Image

Her right side in shade and looking suitably black..
Image

Her pilot wearing WMP badges.. couldn't put it on the right side of his tunic due mapping.. shoulder patches flip, one side is fine, the other a mirror image! 8)
Image

A shot of her attractive rear quarters, hopefully showing some of her shine..

and finally.. LH front shot..

I can do more but I think I'm at the stage where I don't want to do anymore with it. As I said.. we'll see :lol:

Looks good, although the police ones do not have a window in the rear clamshell doors :)

Hello Mate :hello:

No.. that's another annoyance of it being the wrong model. If I was clever enough, perhaps I'd be able to get rid of the glass but I'm not :( You've just reminded me though.. I'm going to a lot of effort on something that's never going to be right. Think I'll go and spend an hour in WMID instead :lol:

Incidentally, while the alpha has made it shine like a good'un, an unwanted side effect is it's lightened the dark blue a tad. Something I may return to at some point ;)

Cheers Rob ;)

POLA looks different on the laptop to how it does on the tft on my pc. If I look at it long enough, I'll get used to it :lol: Would you say NMID would be better painted as POLA's fuse colour or PSNI on the other thread? When I know, I'll make a start.. that or make two versions :lol:

I'd go with the one from the other thread I think. I'd not seen that thread when I posted on this but I think it looks most accurate in my eyes mate.

Rob.

G-NMID wearing her darker clobber..

Image

I've hit a snag with the PK that after hours, I can't resolve. One small part of the model is pulling a texture colour from somewhere and I'm buggered if I can find where. Problem is, only one side of the part is pulling the rogue colour in.. the other side is fine. On the GPOLA/GPSNI paint.. the LH rib of the clamdoor locking mech shows blue and on GNMID, it's showing yellow. The yellow on GNMID looks like it should be there (H&S e t c) but I know it shouldn't. I've studied the 4 main maps and I can't even see where the detail is being pulled from. It looks ok besides that if, dare I say it, a little too black.. or should that be, not quite blue enough :lol:

Whatever.. I'll try and find where this invisible bit is pulling colour from but I'm losing hope.

EDIT.. isn't that strobe under the cabin door naff 8) It only comes on if you hit the L key.. not when you select nav/strob/beacon separately.

Have a look at the readme that comes with the 135 Paint Kit. I'm sure there is some mention of that hinge and texturing in there. Looking good as it is.

A readme?? WTF! :-O

:lol: :lol:

In my quest to get rid of this bloody yellow door catch, I removed every bit of yellow paint from the model then decided it looked great in this colour so I now have a private EC135..
Image

Unfortunately, the door catch remained yellow. What can you see yellow in that pic?? OK.. there's the reg and a single yellow door stop marker. This is what I mean..
Image

I wouldn't mind but that yellow part of the doormech stands proud of the fuse and is visible with the doors shut from the left.. you don't see it from the right because the mech is on the inner edge of the RH door.

A thought occured to me with reference to these darned texture.cfgs. If I use the one I got with the original police paint, strange stuff happens.. I get a blank over where the reg should be on the panel and the LH interior cabin rear has a pigs ear of textures on the bulkhead. So I changed it from this..
[fltsim]

fallback.1=..\texture.2
fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture

to this..
[fltsim]

fallback.1=..\texture

Now.. my rear cabin doesn't look like it's been graffitied on, the blank has gone from the panel reg and the rear door mech has changed colour. That part, wherever it might be, is being referenced by the texture.cfg so I need to find which goddam map it's coming from and try to do something about it. It can be done I know as other paints work fine but I just can't find what's going on with these dark black ones. Damn you FSX :rant:

I've read on FSDeveloper what these lines are supposed to mean but I can't get my head around it. Guess I'll have to read it until it makes sense *-) That's the best part of a day wasted on this door mech :wall:

EDIT: Steve, I won't give you a kiss but hows about a 'manly' hug?? :rock: I've looked at C-9 SO many times and completely missed that one area was in #paint me pink#. Damn and bloody blast it :wall: I'm glad you read this and pointed out there was a readme. It had managed to be as elusive as the part itself!
