Just been trawling through aerial pictures of Belfast on the internet trying to find some showing Sydenham airport and / or Harlands. I found a great group on flicker with almost 1400 images post war and pre 2000 with two from the Aircraft Factory and about 400 of buses!!! So virtually no photographs from what was (and still is) the largest employer in NI. Nuts. Bought Instant Scenery V2 and I'm now going to try and hunt down some library objects, particularly shipyard / dock cranes...

I don't think you'll find models of Samson and Goliath ;)

Fancy learning GMax :)

That's a great idea. I bought ISv2 too but there are so many objects I want/need. I think you're the ideal choice to learn GMAX Ben.. being a techie n'all

Not really  I've had a few forays into GMAX and 3DS Max and I am talentless. I noticed UK2000 Gary said in an interview recently that he uses that freeware program from the NVidia guy (now forgotten the name of it) so I might give that a go.

I opened the GMAX screen once.. took one look at it and said to myself.. I don't think so

I'm spending the rest of my life removing white houses from the world and replacing them with statics of HMS Victory. Arr Jim Lad :RN:

Hi Ben,
If you can't find your desired object in the on line libraries, check out Instant Object Maker.
Haven't made anything with it yet, but the basic idea is to import photo(s) and put shapes to fit within.
It can compensate for perspective if the photo was taken from an angle.

You could try Sketchup & convert the model with MCX. There's a shed load of models available in the Google warehouse (or whatever it's called these days). There may even be the cranes you want already made.

Good idea Dave. I downloaded Alnwick and Bamburgh Castles and they look fine in FSX.
