I'd forgotten about DDH. Wonder if it's time I got more nostalgic with an 'add to basket'

Rgr that Keith  I have to admit the name looked familiar and I was a bit miffed when I saw you'd only posted once

Let us know what you think of the dvd. I actually missed most of the series due to a 23month posting to Nato in Portugal so if (read when!) I get round to buying it, most will be previously unseen

Yep, that's the one, your'll have a lot of fun watching it, the camera crew were a lot of fun and really got a lot of footage of the troops and not just all in the wardroom
The guy who did the puppet "Wilf" got the MBE for it.

So yes, please let us know what you think once you have seen it.

Rich wrote:Kit if you are trying to be failed clever clogs you have succeded, it is not Ito's anything it is the DSB Buccaneer. As far as I know Ito never did a Bucc.
Nononono, I'm talking about the Saunders-Roe SRA-1 flying boat fighter floating on the water abeam the Ark in one of your earlier pics. Ito's version is al in silver, and I've not seen the FAA scheme posted anywhere.

Phew....a few posts since I last read this thread.

Great stuff with all the Engisn moving.....

Great Photo of the Tiger Dave! a model for the Sim sometime no doubt!

Skppy Bing....Wafu or not, you are still a geek (takes one to know one!) taking photos of deck tractors on saturday morning!! (ok, ok I asked you to take them! lol)

Dave B, on the mention of Ark pics, I have a load I scanned from my Dad's slides that Skippy, Seaking and I poured over intensely for a year which if you are interested I can post?

Sketch...

Kit , sorry if I seemed a bit short, yesterday was a bad day.

Yes it is the Ito SRA1 it slipped my mind that I had posted the screenie of it with Ark I tend to use it when doing afcads flattens etc for ships, the default cessna does'nt float well.

It only exists on my HD in these paints, since there were only 3 prototypes there would be no interest in it.

The paints are fictional so no squadron markings and fictional reg.

I tried to make the metal canopy transparent with alpha channel but was only partialy successful, the 3rd prototype had a transparent canopy, and have kept the panel lines as discrete as possible.

I digress this is about the superb Ark model which some of you may have gathered I have it in Manila bay and the ensign moving (it is slightly annimated by the way) was done on that location.

Nothing but admiration for the work put into this model as far as I can tell all the lights were individualy placed for all models, must have taken ages in a week I have only moved the stern ? tail lights.

Well done to all

SRA1 FAA colours

Post by hobby »

Hi Rich

The SRA1 looks very good in FAA colours but the starboard fin flashes are reversed. Red is always to the front of the aircraft no matter which side of the aircraft fin. Is this due to a mapping problem in the fin area as in the default DC3?

hobby. no not a mapping problem. a lazyness problem, as with a lot of things I start I never finish them. Both paints are purely fiction as you know and were never intended for upload.

Sorry for the delay but some fairly major house renovation has caused absolute chaos in my home. I actually recieved the DVD Box Set within a couple of days of ordering. I have so far managed to watch the 1st of the 3 discs.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it.

Here are a few screenies from episode 2:
