I'd guessed he problably would have, 'cos if he hadn't, then most of the rest of his forthcoming models may have suffered too...

I thought this one summed the situation up quite well:

Ed Walters wrote:The ATC HAS been improved - they have tuned it to avoid the zig-zag vectors as described above. They've also added in a few other functions, such as warnings of aircraft on parallel runways.

They've not given it a major overhaul, and it doesn't have regional voices, but it's not just been transferred over straight from FS9 without any changes.
Eksherley, the parallel runway warnings do happen in FS9.

Just came across this review of FSX...........becomes more interesting as you progress down the page to Installation and further along there is a tip for performance and blurries.

Interestingly this guy had purchased a new computer partly to run FSX and it appears he is still somewhat dissapointed!!

Also just found a tweak guide for FSX downloaded in Adobe Acrobat Reader

FSX Bug

Bought FSX last week as you you do for curiosity. Had it running for about 4 hours getting repectible frames (around 20 ). Went back to it later and it said it may be corrupt and needs re-installing. After not being able to remove through control panel i removed with the disk as youy would. Now try and re-install it. It gets near the end then hits you with an error 1722 saying that the windows installer did not finish as it should etc etc. Telephoned microsoft and explained and appears I am not alone with this problem and beleive me Microsoft no its a problem. I just happened to glance accross to avsim forums and I am not alone. So if you have FSX on your system do not take it off for christ sake. Only a full XP install from scratch will sort it out. Microsoft have promised to get back to me with a solution in the next 2 days. The guys in America with this problem are pretty much being ignored by Microsoft. I hope this helps you you decide if you want FSX. Yes Microsoft will sort it out but how long will it take. Those who have this problem also should quote to Microsoft "The sale of goods act 1979 ammended" Beleive me I soon will

I am with airboatr on this one, I just won't put myself through it. For years I have played FS on my machine which has constantly being up graded, and haven't seen brilliant results. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I realised how good my machine was when I played an arcade style came on it. The graphics were brilliant and really atmospheric.

Anybody tried running FSX under XP 64? Allthough I think most of the bottleneck is graphic related.
