Good to hear that you're home, Mike. I'm sure that your recovery will be better in familiar surroundings and with loved ones.
A big 'Thank You' to all of the medical staff who have got you through the worst of it.

Take care.

Kevin

Great to hear that you are back at home Mike. You certainly had us all worried for a few days but one thing I have learnt about Aussies' of which you are classed as one, is that they are tough cookies if the TV series Aussie Outback Drivers is anything to go by mate!!

Regards
Nigel.

Glad to hear you are home, but not fully mended, so please take it easy and eat & swallow your food properly. (NHS website says pneumonia can be caused by food entering windpipe).

Thanks for these latest posts.
You put a smile on my face.
Hugs all round.
Margaret is doing an excellent job taking over from the nurses. Feeling safe here.

Hi Nigel
I started from a good base; Margaret and I go to the gym twice a week so I was in reasonable physical shape. Nothing except the cocktail of antibiotics was a match for the infection. Low oxygen messed with my brain and obviously the impact of the infection on my organs hasn't been good.
I know you were being light hearted about Aussies, but what I'm trying to say is being tough is all very well but it was the doctors who saved the day.

Hopefully, the final chapter in this story:
Yesterday, I was in the RAAF for a while. :dunno:
No, not that RAAF, but the rapid access atrial fibrillation clinic in Ballarat.
The good news is that though I had damage, I don't have current signs of atrial fibrillation :)
Back to the gym tomorrow, baby steps at first :shhh:
