Hello mate :hello:

Yes.. the other blue is the original. I can see how folk get caught out like this. You take one shot as reference and believe it to be right.. that's the mistake the bloke who did the originals made. He should have got loads of reference shots and taken the best as an average.

This is how far I've got now. Two shots.. one in sun and one in shade. The 'in sun' shot shows the new paint to still be blue but a fair bit darker than the orignal. In the shade.. it looks black. To be honest, I could probably take it down a bit more but there's a limit to how far you can go in FS before you lose the colour completely as you know

This was going to be such an easy project too  You want to see the fun and games I've had flipping the bloody map again. First time I looked, I'd not flipped it (again) so I flipped it with the sim open but on a different aircraft.. selected the test paint again and it remained wrong. Had me going round in circles until I closed the sim and looked again to find it in the right place. Damn this flightsim!

Haha. It didn't take much persuasion though, sometimes perfectionism is worth it in the end. Impressive so far.

I don't like stuff being wrong. If there's nothing I can do about it, then so be it (boom grab rails). That colour comes straight off NMID but it could still be a bit darker I think. Looks fine on the other side mind you so I'm reasonably happy(ish) to leave it alone. Some odd things cropped up along the way and I see now why a lot of painters 'block fill' with a solid colour to get rid of unwanted bits that can't otherwise be found on the maps. I've not done it that way with this which is how I've come across the odd bits  NMID should be easier as I know what's going on now but there's sufficient work for it to take a day.

I'd like Nemeth to do a T2 as well as a T1 Police version. Surprising how different they are. Doubt that will ever happen though :( Once I've ironed out the couple of bits I'm not happy with on OLA, I'll make a start on MID ;)

Sounds good to me :)

One thing that does spring to mind, is it possible to change the suit of the pilot to dark blue as opposed to the current colour? Not sure abut the West Mids staff but round here they have dark blue flying suits (and I think white helmets, but I realise these won't be possible to add).

Regarding the colour of the aircraft, on the video I posted, which sadly I filmed on my crappy old long dead mobile phone, if you make it fullscreen and watch the tail it's totally black until the pilot rotates it through 180 and the sun catches it just right. There's then a clear shot of blue. (seen here in this quick screenshot http://hosted.classicbritishfiles.com/g-nmid.png )

I know it's not the best video but I was too busy trying not to get blown over...

Rob.

It's much closer Tony though I'm still not 100% with it

The pilot has been annoying the cr@p out of me Rob. TM's mob use the black flying suits too so I'll see if I can do anything about it. Never painted a pilot before so this should be interesting

OK.. we have a pilot wearing black (dark blue) ovies but there is a problem.. I can't get him to wear a bone dome :| There are 3 models in the set.. one is a VIP, one is Med and the other has passengers (co pilot) showing in VC. Only the Med crew wear bone domes so to have a crew wearing lids would mean having the wrong model.. well, even more wrong than it is now 8)

I'll see if I can find a work around but I'm running up cul de sacs as the moment. These magical texture.cfg's aren't all they're cracked up to be either

Well mate.. it was a simple, single paint of TM's ex office and it's turned into a project. I'm not sure if I like those too much

I'm beaten by the model I'm afraid. Got a bit confused with the model variants (I've too many Nemeth models) and the EC135's '3' are VIP, Med and a-n-other which is basically the med version without the med pilots and gear. Only the Med model has 2 flightcrew and these are the ones who wear bone domes. No matter what combinations I try, it's not possible to get the two med pilots into any of the others. Bit of a bugger really as Police flightcrew don't fly without bone domes :( Still, as there's no 'Law Enforcement' version of the EC135, it was always going to be a compromise. At least the Police paints will all have pilots wearing the proper coloured kit and not look like off duty firemen  It's just taken an hour and a half to get rid of one of those 'little bits' I wanted to get rid of on one side 8) It occurs on one side of the map where 2 maps join. The one side is ok but the other is a fraction off. It's right on a door joint too :wall: Were the paint different, it wouldn't matter but the paint aint different and it matters to me. If ever it gets to the point where there's another user.. they may not notice but it pokes my eye out

Ah well.. I guess I should look at making an alpha for it now.. 3 alphas in fact. Perhaps I'll start on the new NMID instead *-)
