Hi Dave ( and all others )

Thank you for the welcome - my interest in historic aircraft began in 1965 when I flew to Gib in a vanguard, but remember being upset because I couldn't fly by Comet. First commercial jet flight in a 1-11 from Orly to Bristol. David Maltby's wonderful panels has only enhanced the experience. I'm also CEO of DAN Air VA, operating at Great British Airlines VA

I hope to fly regularly with you, and play an active part here in the forums

Mike :)

Excellent Mike

I had a similar flying experience but in reverse. I was scheduled to fly to Lisbon (I was in the RN at the time going on a NATO posting) and expected to be flying by Comet but was chuffed to bits when I found myself boarding a Trident! Comet's did the Gib run as you know but not the Lisbon run so it was a nice surprise  Never managed a trip in a Comet though.. OR a Vanguard for that matter :( Still.. we get to fly them here and that's better than nothing ;)

On the question of flying how long does it take for FSAirlines to issue me with a pilots ID

I assume with the numbers of VAs under their umbrella they must do the updates in cycles - I've parked myself at Manchester in a 1-11, set up the tracking software, just waiting for clearance so to speak

Incidentally after the Orly trip I went back out to Nice in a Trident - as you must know they still have one at Manchester in the Concorde viewing park

Hi Mike,

The gurus here (such as DaveB) are usually prompt, so I wouldn't be surprised if you got the okay to start later on this evening. (If not, don't worry -- it'll be sooner rather than later!)

Enjoy,
David
