Chaps, is the Seaking Native FSX or is it a port over from FS9. I'm just wondering if it suffers from the FSX rotor / cloud issue. *-)

To the best of my knowledge, the FSX SeaKing is full native. I fly it a lot and don't recall ever seeing any blade/cloud issues. In fact I'd go as far as saying the SeaKing is probably the Jewel in the Crown for Alpha/Virtavia. Its certainly had more use than any other product of theirs. I had their old model too :)

EDIT: As I thought.. no cloud issues Ben ;) Make sure you go for the 'FSX only' version: http://www.fspilotshop.com/virtavia-sea ... rrency=GBP

Dave,
You can also get the UKMil Chinook from allnodes - true SP2 model at filename ukmchnx.zip. I think I checked that it was the same as the actual UKMil download, so that should be good to go.

I have both Sea King models from AlphaSim which I got in the sales last year. Tanfastic, and a shed load of repaints plus alternate rotor textures and FDEs. One of my favourites as well ...

EDIT - Just checked again and the files from allnodes and UKMil are different. Sorry about that misdirect. If you like I can try to get a copy of the (later) UKMil file to you ...

Cheers Ro :)

I did look on Allnodes and the model/upload is dated 10-13-2008. The one at UKMIL is 16-10-2008 and says V2 with fixed gauges and textures :worried:

The Virtavia Seaking is definitely native, and jolly good it is too.
I think old FS9 paints still fit too *-)

Thanks chaps, duly purchased, but if I advance the throttle, the rotors slow to a stop (although the engines remain running). I appreciate I'm almost certainly being thick, but any suggestions? :worried:

I've had that a few frustrating times in FSX, Ben, and it always turned out to be due to the rpm. Even though I had my lever set at full whack, somehow it wasn't being read as such, even after calibration - though that sometimes sorted it temporarily.

I ended up using a different controller for it.

Indeed they do..

Dunno what happened here but this one didn't get updated at Flying Stations.. that or it disappeared from the FSX section. I've just taken the FS9 paint (3 maps), flipped it and added the alpha from the FSX HAS Mk1. Robert is your proverbial uncle  Fraser was going to repost this again but he obviously doesn't have 5mins to spare! :shhh: :wasntme:

EDIT: You can get this paint HERE
All credit to Fraser.. all I did was flip the maps and change the alphas ;)

Righty, the problem (I think) is torque. It seems when I wind the thumb wheel access on the controller fully forward the throttle works as expected, when I wind it back, the blades stop. I'll check it out properly later. Now all I need is an Aero Flight Bedford Paint ;)
