Good man ;) The prop did eventually stop after I'd landed on Ark then slewed around to see where I was though I don't think it ever fully feathered (sharp sides front and back) :xgrin:

If this is your first effort Rob, hats off ;) You might have picked one with a slightly less complex engine arrangement but you didn't so good on ya B-) Not discovered all the little things it will do yet but I'll have fun looking  A definite keeper ;)

Thank you Dave ,
Yes, maybe I did bite off a little more than I can chew :agree: , I'll pick something more basic for my next model!

Hi Rob..

Please forgive me for asking but having spent a little time in the little tinker this afternoon.. I feel I must  Are your Gannet exploits staying at the AS.1 or might there be more variants in the future?? I'll bet you're probably sick to the teeth of Gannets and don't need any 'are you going to' questions at this point but I thought I'd ask anyway

Thank you very much for your interest Dave,
I am certainly not "Ganneted" out yet I think it's a lovely old flying machine, I'm working on a COD version at the moment but it's really not much of a change from the AS 1 just a colour change, get rid of the radome and add some underwing pods instead of the weapons, not thought beyond that yet. The AEW would be another major investment in time etc..
There are a few techniques I would like to learn before going on to another model, When I look at the perfection that is the artwork in the gauges of the Hunter and the new Jetstream, that is something I would like to be able to achieve but is totally beyond me at the moment.

Kind Regards
Rob

Hi Rob :hello:

Well.. I wasn't told to naff off so that's a bonus

You've almost read my mind.. the COD Mk4 being an 'easy' obvious next choice having the fewest exterior changes. I agree, the AEW would be rather more than a cut and shut. Sadly, my 3-view only has a side view of the Mk3 which, better than a poke in the eye.. it's not by much 8)

Rick and DG have been doing 3D gauges for a while now and you're right.. they do add a lot to a model while working much better/smoother than their 2D predecessors. Of course, it's a lot more work for the modeller!

Cool Rob ;) Glad to hear this is not the last Gannet we'll see

Can I ask a couple of questions please? Having deleted the underwing stores before flying, I find that the rockets on starboard wing are still showing. Going back into the payload window to check, I found them still deleted. Any ideas anybody? Also. How does one open the bomb doors? I've hunted high and low for a switch in the cockpit.

This aircraft accelerates like no other I've seen. Great for deck take off, but disconcerting from the runway. In windy conditions, I found she was fairly unstable around the longditudinal axis. A real handful in fact.

Having said that, it has already become a firm favourite. Thank you very much Rob.

Dennis.

I've gotta say that after quite a few hours of flying these two things also stand out in my mind.

Having said that, I still LOVE it!

Happy New New

Hi Dennis..

Not had the same issue with rockets showing but haven't fiddled for a few days.. other stuff on the go. The bomb doors open with a switch on the LH controls.. near the throttles. I think it's actually marked bomb bay or bomb doors.. something like that. Alternatively, use the standard slash ( / ) ;)
