Hi John

I only get the high TGT problem if i load the 748 model as the default flight or change to the 748 from a non default aircraft.

if that makes sense ?.

But yes i have seen that one.

Rick

That'll be it, had to make a new default flight to use HJG 707s, will have a play around with that. Thank you.

Hi John... always good practice to have the default flight as one of the default aircraft. ;-)

[quote="johnsmithe15"]Is anyone else getting really high TGTs, I have read the manual back to front, just cant get the temperature down and I have tried everything I can on the panel.

They seem to want to stick arounf 1000 degrees even with fuel trim completely down and throttlles almost at idle.

I get those high TGT temps if the "starter" isn't disengaged. Not sure of all the interactions but early
on after I imported the HS748 into FSX I was having problems getting it fired up, as my default flight
is cold and dark. I had to resort to adding a couple of XML guage "starter" switches which addressed
the changes in the starter code between FS9 and FSX.

Initially I didn't have a "reset" for the "toggle enginex starter" and if it wasn't "turned offf" the high
TGT's would result.

Sometimes I still experience the high temps when a relight becomes necessary. As I said, I haven't
investigated the cause\inter-relationship of the events as for the most part it flies and functions
just fine, in spite of a few "acceleration\SP2 induced" problems with reflective textures.

When you get the high TGT's try shutting down the engine(s) and restarting. That's about the
only advice I can give.

Thanks Paul, I have been sitting here all evening getting more and more frustrated. I followed a couple of pages of this thread and found this replacement cab file.

Could we sticky this guys, it felt like discovering a well kept secret. ;-)

I followed the instructions and copied it into the main FSX gauges folder and deleted the HS7 cab found in the panel file. Hey presto it works. As I'm not a bit technical I dont know why.

Fraser Mackay posted it a few pages back, thank you very much Mr Mackay :)

Hi

been reading through the threads to find some help on installing this in the most efficent way into FSX
and this one seams to clear up a few questions and the Fix Fraiser posted (Gauges HS7_FSX.zip)
still a little confused where the files in the (stand alone) texture folder go after extracting them to temp folder.
create a common texture folder in simobject/airplanes or what/
and if anyone has come across any other fixes,, the props ? maybe..

thanks
Joe

Hi Joe,

The common textures go in the main FSX texture folder or you can add them into each texture folder in the aircraft (not recommended as it would take forever)

What I would tend to do, is add them to the main texture folder, then from one of the default FSX aircraft (lets say the 737) copy the file texture.cfg from one of its texture folders and add it to every texture on the 748. The texture.cfg file, tells FSX where to go to look for common textures. :)

Hold on guys

Let me work out my FSX way before you get lost on where files go.

I can set up a new file and make it available here

Give me a few hours to sort it out.
