The Reindeer was that the one with James Stuart who was telling them the tail would come off

I remember seeing a pic of that at Blackbushe with the reg G-AFOH (unused) on the side.

The caption was " A rare picture of a frightfully rare aeroplane cum can opener with a Halton screaming to get out taken on the blasted heath at Bluckbushe many years ago" or something along those lines

So I take it that meant the mock up was built around a Halton...looked like it might have been taxyable.

This was in an very early Aircraft Illustrated.

It would be nice to see that pic again having not seen it for about 25 plus years.

Would be interesting to see how many bits are recognisable out of whatever they did make the film prop from.

Even though it was fake I wish I could find a pic of it just out of curiosity..I do remember watching the film on TV many years ago.

The only thing I remember was the strange double crucifom tail - I know there were some full shots of it but I always assumed it was a model


I also remember the FLight deck looked like the bridge of the Queen Mary

I remember seeing BAC 1-11 at BOH before they went in 2003 so for me its when I saw my first RAF VC-10 last year in the cotswolds

the 1-11, it is the only jet that was actually competitive with Boeing and MD. economically. though maybe if DM would update the comet and vc10 I might swing towards one of these, ~nudge,nudge~

Hi Garry, I have searched the web, but I have not been able to find a photo of the Reindeer, there must be stills of it and probably somepeople have got them in their attics as it was the practice in the UK untill about the late 1970s for Cinemas to display stills in their lobbys, eitherway if somebody had a DVD [ hopefully it will get a DVD release ] of No Highway it would be no great effort to capture a frame showing the Reindeer, one never knows it might inspire somebody to create a Reindeer to fly in FS2004!

I think the pic in AI all those years ago may well have been form one of the stills.

It certainly was taken on the field and set up properly...not a Brownie through the fence.

Cinemas often used to sell soft cover coloured books about films..but I don't know about that one.

I bought them for the Battle of Britain, Cromwell and Oliver.
