Some more encouraging noises at SOH. Quote from Jan Visser's post of a couple of days back....

"Daniel and Manfred are working on a much more sophisticated Audible Checklist (totally amazing if you ask me! ) and currently i am trying to lite up the cockpit so to speak. Going quite well but it's not like it's an overnight job...

Now, on the matter of passenger service, very much looking forward to that myself. I will see to that the C-47 gets a more or less genuine DC-3 outfit, in the first place sporting the short air-intakes and dress up the cabin with a few rows of pax seats. Maybe possibly do away with the astrodome and replace the glider-tow tail with the original pointy tail.

Please do not ask for cabin windows and pax/cargo door configurations for the time being. I might look into that later as well as extending the VVC towards the cabin."

I d/l what I thought was a RAF Transport Command repaint for this.
The cockpit is virtually all black, including windows, with the odd highlight on edges of switches etc.
Externally looks OK, but impossible to fly from cockpit.
How can a repaint do that, I wonder :dunno:

Sounds like the texture.cfg is pointing to a folder you don't have, probably one for a cockpit repaint.

Mike, texture folder on the Transport Commend repaint should look like this....

My one is OK.

Thanks to Dave & John for your helpful comments. ;)
Turned out that whilst I did have the "texture.black" in the aircraft folder, it was still compressed!
Maybe I unzipped it, then moved the compressed folder instead?! :$
Unusual, as I normally unzip direct to the end location. :dunno:
Whatever, I now have it working fine.
I actually prefer the other version with the compass suspended on the octopus straps, but now I have multiple choices. :)
It's amazing what one can miss. I couldn't get the RAAF scheme to show, then discovered that I replaced [FLTSIM.XX] with [FLTSIM.3 :doh:

Hi Mike

Glad you're sorted.
I had the same problem.
There is an extra line in the Texture.cfg file (found in the 'texture.RAF Transport Command' folder) that should not be there.
Open this with Notepad and you will see -

[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.black
fallback.2=..\texture.EATS_315221
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.4=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture

Delete the line - fallback.2=..\texture.EATS_315221

re-number the following fallback entries to read -

[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.black
fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture

This not only corrects the cockpit, but I also noticed that externally the top of the fuselage was white rather than a strange silvery white previously.

Kevin

Thanks Kevin ;)
Done.
I'm sure that others will appreciate that tip, too!

The new version of this lovely bird - 3.14 with night time cockpit lighting - is now available at the Outhouse. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/l ... p?catid=37 :welldone: :welldone:
