Just bringing this back on topic.
Yesterday, the Swanage Belle from London Victoria was hauled south by an LMS Class 5MT No 44871.

It was hauled back to London Waterloo by a King Arthur Class No 30777 Sir Lamiel. It was tonking along amid a cloud of the most foul smelling smoke. Lovely!!!

The first shot was taken from a road bridge over the line at West Byfleet, and the second one was from the platform on West Byfleet station.
I don't know much about steam engines and the technical terms relating to them, but I know what I like, and I like what I know.
