Well I am at near-hysteria point after reading the 'manual' and have yet to go anywhere!
Joking aside, the manual is clearly just a precis of the actual BAC flight manual and probably of almost no use when it comes to flying this sim. I see there's some sort of tutorial but I doubt it's 'live' as you fly.
Look out anyone on a 263 radial out of LHR sometiome this afternoon...

Well, amazingly, I did Filton - LHR in one piece earlier. Got a basic hang of the AFCS (IAS ACQ, ALT ACQ, HDG TRK, autothrottles etc) but, interestingly, we were porpoising for most of the journey once at altitude (5000ft and 250kts). I can only assume this was a C of G / fuel transfer issue. Anyone concur?
I clicked the VFE on but he seemed to do bugger all!

Hi Grace
From the aborted/never finished flights I've done, I think that the best our friendly VFE does is stop the CoG warning coming on. I must point out that this comment is made without having any more than scant regard for the manual

There is obviously more to this than meets the eye and less to our VFE than explained as all of my flights have ended with the aircraft bleeding off speed and from the outside, loads of wing clouds indicating an out of envelope situation (as if I didn't know that) :brick: With the VFE off, you'll see a constant reminder of wrong doing with the red warning lamp and associated sound. Mr VFE must have a master warning cancel button and that's what he does!
Anyway.. hat's off to you for making a landing. This is something that I've yet to experience with this particular model ;-) Maybe I should forget transatlantic ops and join you on the daily LHR to Filton run
I suppose I'll have to actually read the b1oody manual at some point (worst case scenario) unless of course, Bob comes up with an idiots guide in the meantime featuring the least switches possible in order to get from A to B

After viewing the video from Just Flight and of the screen shots here........I may just be very, very tempted.....Now if I finish the decorating by next week and the wife is pleased with the result I can pluck up the courage and ask!! :prayer:

I think it's a great bit of kit at the asking price mate and as we've all found, it appears to work ok in FSXa. I've always been a fan of PSS/DotCom/GW and the panel on this little tinker is a peach. However.. be prepared for lots of reading as it's simply not possible to jump into this model and fly without having done so first :o

TBbrutallyH.. the only bit I've read is the bit saying what the VFE does. Over the years I've had it, I don't think I've landed once

The fact we're getting some for the VA rekindled my interest so I blew the dust off and found the panel e t c (I had it in the sim as AI only) ;-) The other fact (that I never got further than Ireland enroute to the U.S.) is when I lost interest and CBA to continue the learning curve
