With all the news on TV lately about the hurricanes that America is experiencing
??????
Im confused - This was the quietest Hurricane season in 50 years - once more the "weather weenies" and scare mongerers screwed the pooch
"This will be the worst Hurricane season on record for the US" - yeah right - just like its getting warmer - ask the folks in the Dakotas and upper midwest
who have been living in -25C for the last two months oh yes and we STILL have snow down to the 4000 foot level here in Vegas - but we do get earthquakes
almsot everyday

Its OK Graham - not you, Im weary of the gloom and doom brigade in the media - lead by a twit from Tennesse who has a larger electricity bill for his private home than a small shopping mall - owns several large gas guzzling SUVs , traipeses around the world in private jet polluting the atmosephere all on his own, Sells Alternate fuel futures (which ranks right up there with selling "beach front property" in Arizona) and tells us how bad we are for being nasty consumers from one side of his mouth while telling people that he invented the Internet and Georger Segal wrote the novel "Love Story" about he and his wife from the other. - and they gave this guy a Nobel Prize????
Ok rant over - Mods remove it if you wish

Yet another Chris
Allow me to me clarify, guys.
Believe me, I am no thrill/danger seeker, and I am not underestimating the fear and potential danger of these things. If I had been closer the event, or IT was closer to me, then I would be kaking myself aswell. However, the chance of anything more severe in this country is extremely unlikely (famous last words

) so I was basing my view on that.
I just think that it was very interesting to have experienced a rare, harmless natural occurance. I have always been fascinated by the paranoramal/unknown. What I felt was so brief that I half thought I imagined it. So...if it had lasted a few seconds longer, I would have had that slight uncanny sense, a surreal feeling which, might not be nice at the time, but providing no-one was hurt, would be even more interesting than it was, to look back on.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I know. But life is full of experiences; good/bad, it's what makes us and shapes us.
I am sorry to those who were in any fear of Wednesday's event, and I don't wish it again on anyone who felt that way. It's just me being selfish!
