Hi Guys,

I am certainly glad I asked about whether Rich was working on a FSX version of the HS748. This discussion seems to have been highly satisfactory.

The only thing that I can contribute is that I just got a response to a question to Abacus asking the status of their FSX update to FSDS. The response was (and I don't think this was in any way confidential) that they should release a new FSX program very shortly, as they only have one bug left to solve. Hopefully that can be taken on face value.

Regards,

Bill

I have NEVER before heard of ANY programmers that could say with certainty that they only had one bug left, so they must be pretty confident about their product...

Here's a replacement cab file to fix the FSX engine start problem. No other changes as everything else appears serviceable ;-)

Copy cab to FSX gauges folder overwriting any previous HS7 cab. Make sure there's not another one lurking in the panel folder. 2D panel must be loaded first before using VC for the moment.

HS748 only not for Andover.

Cheers

No worries,

I'll give it a thorough overhaul if/when you decide on an FSX update ;-) , mostly just minor cosmetic bits need attention. :cpu:

Sorry to bring this up again, but just wanted to share some experiences.

I've been converting G-ASGK's textures to dds, and yes it works well, it loads fine, but converting the textures from 32-bits to dxt in the process, unfortunately reduces the quality.

So if you seek good visuals, keep the 32-bit bmp-format. If you want to take advantage of the DX-texture compression use dds.

This has nothing to do with having common textures in a separate texture folder and using the fallback method to reduce table space.

Is anyone else getting really high TGTs, I have read the manual back to front, just cant get the temperature down and I have tried everything I can on the panel.

They seem to want to stick arounf 1000 degrees even with fuel trim completely down and throttlles almost at idle.
