can't recall Dave. What model are you using and I'll try to convert it in MCX.

Hello Mate
It shouldn't really matter but it's the SU Hurricane. I've since found a version lurking on C drive by AH with the paint I need (7L). I know the SU Hurri was payware as I remember buying it but I've no idea where the AH model came from

Noticed my C drive was down below 30gig today so I've been shifting off and deleting. Surprising how much stuff I have and I've absolutely no idea what it is

I can't convert the AH Hurricane with either SAMM or MCX. The animations cause problems.

Thanks for that George.. I won't bother trying then

The SU Hurricane is fine other than SAMM didn't give it a ground shadow and the model itself is a bit on the big side for a static. Where does SAMM take the textures from for the static model? I could reduce the map sizes and convert the textures to dds (the main ones anyway) which would help I think

SAMM takes the texures from the model variant and places them wherever you stored the model:

Thanks George
A major problem is that I've not used it before (I bought ISv2 instead of trying it out) and I've not got my head around where I should keep libraries and/or where files go when they've been saved. I tried using MCX and didn't note where the bgl had been stored. I only found it by doing a search on F drive using windows 'Find'
I know I'm a bugger for not reading instructions and this doesn't help but everything I try seems to bite back. I tend to lose interest rather than find out why

Another oddity using ISv2 today though not with the prog itself it has to be said. I've been filling Devonport with ships and some of the statics show really odd hull textures..
All the Leanders look like this and yet when I look at them in ModelConverterX.. the textures look fine. The Tiger Class Cruisers,Type21's and Type42's are the same.. the County Class Destroyers are ok-ish and the Rothesay Class are fine. Everything appears to be where it should be and above the hulls looks fine.. it's just the hulls. Not a bad wartime look but a bit off on these

I've not done anything to the models. I really don't know how ModelConverter works although through trial and error (call it more by luck than judgement).. I managed to get the old Alpha Hermes extracted from it's position off the IoW and this now lives in Guz

ISv2 warned me for a long time that it was 'out of area' so it wouldn't add it. I think I may have mistakenly changed the GUID on it at some point then tried it again and it worked
These are supposed to be FS9 models. Is that the reason? Is there anything I can do to make them look less patchwork?
