The guppy has been moved round near to European to a more photogenic location. However, this is the area of the airfield a number of aircraft have been layed to rest over the years....

Hi BMI,

thanks for the pictures. I only hope she's been put there pending further negotiations and inspections by the relevant authorities. To have come this far and to face the cull would be nothing short of a crime. :crying:

Thanks vm for the progress update and please keep us posted

Still seems odd that the CAA and the airport can ground it :dunno:

Jeez I guess she's not in as good shape as they originally thought.

She first flew in 1961 so imagine what she's been through over the years!

There are still rumours of her trying to be rescued, so no fate is secured yet. She's only been moved because BASCO's closed.

Two rumours floating around...

1) Awaiting a CAA inspection prior to departure
2) Scrapping next week

I think #1 sounds more likely... any of you heared more?

Thanks BMI

I think also number one more than likely

If it was to be scrapped I doubt if it would be that quick and a lot of money has been put into something HeavyLift obviously wanted.

Well to be honest I would have thought there would have been frequent updates on cl44.org seeing as this is a potentially major milestone for the guppy should it fly again. But alas there's nothing on there.
