John,
I've found some more files in the texture folder you may not have. Have a look for VCframe748_T.bmp.. VCQuadrant_T.bmp and VCsideleft748_T.bmp
Whether these not being there would be a reason for your continued 'missing bits' but it's worth checking

Yo Mr P
You'd not posted when I started my last
As I said earlier.. it is most unlike me as I normally stick with the last beta but I do actually have the set uploaded to CBF on my system too and all appears fine
It's just not possible for any 'bug/hitch' to be selective in missing files off and this problem has not arisen before now so I'm clutching at straws a bit as to why John hasn't got them all. The only possible explanation I can come up with is that they were executed to a temp file and then dragged into place.. perhaps not the right place.
Whatever.. if we can get him up and running with all parts present in FS9, it's up to him what he does with it in FSX before an official patch is released

Rick,
I can fully understand why you do not want to get involved with FSX - when I first posted I did not expect formal "support" from you personally. That would wait until/if you updated the aircraft. I was in effect only asking if anyone else had experience of the 748 in FSX.
However, when Paul came on I found that I was missing a file in my FS9 HS748 and this is what I have trying to resolve since then. As you will see from above, it appears I have been missing this one file since I originally downloaded the 748 several months ago - and I have now tried three different options {original download, CB today and AVSIM today} all without success.
Paul,
Many thanks. I am sure that I have all the files except this one - all those in Paul's list including the ones that you mention. Certainly I have never seen anything like this before - I have searched the whole hard drive on both computers that I have tried and the file is not there. I thought of a windows snag - but I have re-installed since my first download whilst keeping the original files in a back up on a second HDD.
Its a very minor thing but irritating - I'll keep searching but if you have time, grateful if you could e-mail the file to me sometime. Just to see if that works.
Thaks Again
John

Gentlemen,
Many thanks to all, the e-mailed file is in and I am seeing things in the VC {in FS9} that I have never seen before - and I first installed the 748 last Spring.
For your info {and in case this comes up again} I have now installed the 748 in three different computers and all files were installed correctly on all - except the VCbits.
C'est la vie!

Glad you got things to your liking , John.
As to the "missing" VCBits file, I did a little digging around on my system
and found that the file date co-incides with the date of another file used
on the AWArgosy. I believe that installing the Argosy is how THAT file
came to be on my system. VCBits.bmp is used on the Argosy as well as
the HS.748. Hope this helps explain your dilema.

Hi Paul,
Just downloaded the Argosy; although I have some 10 CB aircraft, that was one I had missed. You are quite right - the file I received yesterday is just the same as the Argosy file {same size, date and contents} so if you have the Argosy, you will not notice whether you get this file from the 748 or not.
Also, even without the file, you will not know that it is missing from the 748 unless you look very closely at the VC and know what should be there!
None of which explains the mystery of why I cannot get the file out of the 748 package into any computer! As I said:
C'est las vie {or "that's computers for you"!}
Best Wishes
John

Hi John,
It is also true that while my version is the same as yours.. it is more than possible I had some 'beta bits' left over so my 100% guarantee that all is fine is not as watertight as it could be
Like you say, unless you have a rough idea what the back end of a 748 flightdeck looks like, it may have gone unmissed but I'd wager that with the amount of pedantic sods we have here.. an error like that would have been picked up before now
I think I have one pc that has neither the Argosy or 748 installed so I'll try it from the current file and let you know what turns up.. or doesn't as the case may be

Just checked and my Argosy looks like it should all round
The 748 was loaded after and that is OK too and a comp0letely different rear end.
I have the VC bits in FS9 texture but I have no conflict.
The VC Bits with the grey door is the 748 from what I can see..certainly looks right on mine.
The Argosy has a wide bulkhead with a smaller looking door.
I sent a bitmap to JER yesterday and that is the one that is being used on my 748 VC
