I do indeed mean format the bloody thing :lol:

If I buy a new PC from anyone (and I have the XP CD) first thing I do is wipe it and rebuild it, as the stick on al sorts of crap when they build these things.

If the CD you have is a genuine XP CD (i.e. the one with the Microsoft Holograms on) and you have the license key for it. Of course you'll need to back it up first. It definately sounds now like something software thats causing your problems, as hardware wouldn't be able to single out Outlook Express.

How many hard disks do you have in the machine and if more than one are they set up in any sort of RAID (if you know)

Alternatively, If you post the base unit to my work, complete with XP CD and License key, I'll get it rebuilt for you and shipped back down.

Ben thats very kind of you. Sadly I have just the Mesh recovery CD which incorporates windows XP SP2 :sad:
It is very odd that since I swopped from the Nvidia Ethernet to the Yukkon one I have this p[roblem and even odder that it collected my mail the other night then went arsey on me again!!
I think I will go back to my 16K Spectrum

Tony... I would really recomend taking the yukkon card out and upgrading the BIOS. If your still interested in having in rebuilt send me a PM... I may have a plan :wink:
