Hi Toby

Yep did that and now have right balance.

Reinstated all the extra bits of the airfield.
Also chopped out the channel at the top of the Island so it's got water in it.

Hi Toby

It's not that good.

Just playing with Afcad to learn how to make the taxyways etc.

They now all line up properly with the VFR textures which was a hard slog as you can't load a background in Afcad2.

I can't find any descent hangars to use with my XML tool for placing them.

Regards
Rick

Hasn't Cees Donker made some standard RAF Hangars, someone posted some the other day? Failing that, It wouldnt be hard for you to make some up from photographs

Tis easy for anyone to use afcad with the default textures. Just a modified default scenery. Add a few downloaded third party buildings, and away you go. Anyone can do that. It is not scenery design.

To design your own airfield from scratch, create your own taxyways, asp''s and dispersal's, and create your own textures, structures, and hangars etc, without the use of third party items.............is a totally different task.

Hmm, I might download someone's aircraft, add some downloaded textures, and say.............hey. Look what I made. :dunno:

Steve has a point. Theres an increasing amount of stuff being turned out these days that is just put together from bits. 99% of everything I do is original, with all buildings as accurately depicted in shape, size and texture as can be achieved with the photos I have available, often complicated by the fact that I seem to have a desire to model buildings that are no longer standing

That's exactly the point, Toby, and it's the fun part.
Imagine what we would be left with if aircraft designers could download a fuse, wings and engines, and stick them together.

I wasn't having a go at these guy's, but I would like to see the correct hangars and control tower in there, together with accurate concrete textures, which you can't do with afcad.
I'm sorry, but sun bleached Californian concrete just doesn't do it, in Hampshire.

Don't give up guy's.................we need more scenery designers. We just can't keep up with the requests.
