Ha ha.. I'm not that interested in the Wigwam, but I was interested enough to make one (for FS98) once!

Hi Toby
if i had thought the HS.780 was more than spaced engines & props & a new rear end i would not have done it.
Even the pax door is a different size & the front fuselage is longer too which ment all sorts of **** re-aniamating the gear and VC stuff after pulling it all forward.
No Plans for A "squatting Dog" ATP as it's like the Austin Metro to me.
It was built to replace the 748(mini) but failed dysmally.
the ATP Has Engines that never delivered the claimed economy or reliability of the Dart over the timescale needed.
Ok when new but no good in the longrun.
Is the JS61 gone now too Toby (Rover 100)
Regards
Rick

not a request then
Most likeley at some point but it's not straightforward to paint as the textures are cheated onto the extra fuselage length.
The model was never built to take cammo which was the main problem
but if the 115 sqn can be done i will do it.
Can you send me a pic to check what you mean as i know of 5 different red & White liveries for the 780.
Regards
Rick

Hi rick.
When i worked at woodford,on the 146,i had to do some inspection work on the first ATP,and i upset the designer by saying the ATP was a stretched 748 poorly done.
He was not amused,in fact i would say he went ballistic,no sense of humor.
I have to agree with you about the ATP being UNRELIABLE,but dont tell WEST AIR SWEDEN,as they are slowly replacing there fleet of HS748`s with ATP`s with large rear sliding freight doors.
The ATP did not go down well with pax,i hope it makes a better freighter.
regads alan.

Rick,
I think the J61 project was killed off by the formation of AI(R) consortium in the mid 1990s as it would have been in direct competition with the ATR 42/72 aircraft. There might have been one completed J61, I'm not sure. Certainly a number of incompleted ATP airframes have ended up on fire dumps, Manchester has c/n 72 for example.

John,
Sadly the 780 was never offered nor certified as a civilian aircraft thus it will not be accepted to the FlyNET database.

Joe..
I mentioned elsewhere that the fact (for most of us) that the 780 flew in civilian clothes is not in doubt but I've seen nothing to say that it flew for a British airline. This should not stop its inclusion into the FlyNET database but it would curtail it's inclusion in the CBFS fleet.. not that this would bother you
