That is the same as I got too. For a while I thought you must be on an exclusive list Dave, or there was a truly flash sale (i.e. only for a few minutes or hours) that I'd missed.

Sri Andy. I pulled it quickly on my mobile while I was at work.. had a very quick look (without actually reading it by the looks of things) and deleted it. :wall:

Hi Dave B,

I was going to ask whether all your concerns had been addressed, but I've just seen Alex Ford's post at SOH, and it appears they have. As a result, what do you think of it on the whole ? It's starting to interest me, and it might be one for the 'Sale' list - if you think it's now worth considering.

Hello mate..

I've not had a chance to get into anything inside the cockpit in any detail. I know of one user who's (privately) had a couple of concerns regarding lighting, navigation and systems (as well as the ones I had re the external model) and am not sure what response he's had from those. Visually, it's a lot better than it was although the 'new' shading doesn't have the finesse or look of it being baked (eg, done properly). A bit more than a splash and dash with a spray can though in the case of the reflecting main mudguards.. little more. Still.. something has been done ;)

I'm thinking the flight model gives the impression the model is a light-weight rather than 7ton of throbbing metal. It moves around quite a bit more than I'd expect :-O Hopefully.. a tweak here and there should calm it down. Other than this, I've no major concerns. Must try it light.. not to see it blown around more but to see how it takes off and lands. Airspeeds seem a little high for both evolutions but TBH.. I've not been concentrating on it.

Sri I can't be more specific but since I looked hard at the outside and didn't like what I saw.. I've left it alone. One has standards don't ya know

Thanks for all that, DB. I think the textures over the whole model look a bit rough, so I'll look out for possible repaints. If they are forthcoming, I may well indulge come the next sale.

That was me, I think. :worried: I posted my issues on the JF forum, and recently submitted support tickets. In summary I've requested or reported the following:

* Requested sound for flap operation.
* Requested ability to activate HP Fuel cock with mouse wheel.
* Requested color change of VOR pointer.
* Requested VC flood lighting.

And last but not least,

* Correct problem with loss of electrical (alternator/generator) operation after 30 minutes of flight.

Not sure if anyone else has encountered these issues, but I felt there is always room for improvement. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the Meteor and have accumulated many flight hours since its release. Glad to see they've addressed the navigation lights and texture issues.

I should add that I also requested the ability to add fuel when selecting external tanks. I found out later that the script is in the aircraft.cfg [fuel] section, but disabled (\\) so its a matter of removing the backslashes to enable additional fuel for those long flights.

Hiya WH :hello:

Yes.. for it was he!

Wish I'd have known of the generator problem. Just done Culdrose to Valley (a regular for me) and hadn't noticed the gennies had dropped. Must fly back to check :cpu: How does the gennie failure manifest itself.. a warning light and or loss of electrics?

Paul..
Having done this trip with live weather.. the FD didn't seem quite so flirty. There are a couple of areas where turbulence is forced around the Culdrose area. Some models just plough through with a shrug.. others get tossed around A LOT. The Meatbox is one that gets tossed around A LOT. Outside those areas, it's a reasonably stable platform. There was very little wind aloft on this last flight.. around 7kts on the nose +/- and little or no turbulence. Not an ideal test.. a Rapide would have been equally stable (though not at FL200 as I was)

Right.. back to Culdrose!!
