Got my download last night. Didnt have any issue with her, ground handling was good and she is nippy for an oldie...

DG.. anyone..

I'm still having probs with nose wheel steering. The manual says that with the click spot either selected or unselected, you have the nose wheel 'isolated' so direct steering can be made without deflecting the rudder (as I understand it) or with the other option, you get a castoring nose wheel and diff braking. The only option that seems to work on my rig is castoring nose wheel/diff braking. If I use the other option (the other one you get via the click spot on the trim panel) I get normal braking (non-diff) and no nose wheel steering :dunno: Is mine bust or have I misunderstood something *-)

I still can't get into the config pages either. George at JF suggested I try to run it directly from Program files(x86)/blah/blah/Panel and to make sure it's run as Administrator but my FSX isn't on C:\ and isn't in Program Files(x86) although it is already 'run' as Administrator :dunno:

Found last night while cycling between panels that if the aircraft is powered off (engines shut down/fuel taps closed) and you hit the red lightning (power) icon on the panel graphic.. the model starts trying to restart.. even though clicking on the lightning icon should in theory make it cold and dark (greyed out rather than red). Couldn't stop it from the panel graphic either as there aren't any ignition switches, not that I could find.

None of this is drastic in the grand scale of things though I would like to be able to steer using the nose wheel rather than by diff braking.

Hi Dave :hello:

The Flight Analysis prog thingy works fine for me, running directly from the panel folder :dunno:
Clicking the NWS option in it basically changes the contact point settings for the nosewheel in the aircraft.cfg, so it's possible to edit it manually if you like.

Here's my settings with the castoring / diff braking wheel:

Code: Select all

Dunno mate. A couple of bods over at SimOuthouse seem to be have the same trouble as well *-)
Probably needs some runtime files or something like that. :dunno: I'm sure JF will get to the bottom of it.

DB do you have all of the DX9 updates installed? Also the dot net versions.

Hello Mate :hello:

I'm jiggered if I know what I've got. DX9 should be ok.. not sure about the dotnet :dunno: It would be helpful if the 'error' let me know why it was happening rather than what's not happening 8) I can try and put it on the WinXP system which is overgrown with dotnets and DX9's but that wouldn't let me know what the problem was.

Tks for that DG.. nice to know I'm not on my own ;)

Hi DG..

I've just tried your NWS cfg and it works exactly as prescribed  I now have 2 cfgs.. one for NWS and t'other for Diff braking. A bit untidy but functional ;)
