Dave - of you do get CCleaner be sure to read the the online help (link in lower left corner of main screen) You can do some real damadge is you check all the options without reading about them. For instance, you need to create a list of cookies that you want to keep otherwise you will be entering name and password every time you visit the site after using CCleaner. Alternativly, you can ignore all cookie cleaning. That said, I have used CCleaner for years and never had a problem and I run it at least once a week. The refistry cleaner is one of the few I trust - just be sure you backup from within the program before you delete the entries.

Kevin..
Just had a look inside MWB's quarantine module and only the 2 trojans were in there.. none of the other stuff it found. I'm not sure there's more 'alive' on here as MSE 'found and neutralized' a couple when I turned the pc on a few mins ago. I'm hoping they were the same 2
Express Gate stopped
EDIT: Ah.. I understand what you mean now Kevin. Having done another scan this morning, I've realised that when you hit 'remove'.. it puts the files selected into quarantine and you actually delete the files
from quarantine

This mornings scan found only 37 (ONLY 37 he says) possible malware references. Yesterday, it was 50-odd

Update..
I decided to run another scan then bit the bullet and quarantined the lot.. held my breath and restarted windows. It actually restarted and thus far, nothing has died. I've started breathing again too

This all seems a little too easy and I'm sure something will bite back (refuse to work) over the next few days but I'll take what I can and enjoy the P&Q for now

Dave
good to see you are making progress. Always a bit of a nerve jangler when undertaking this sort of action. If anything misbehaves, you can always return files to their original location from MWB's quarantine. That said, hopefully non of those files are required and can be deleted in a few days time.
