Hi George :hello:

So.. I have to presume then that those Yankee whatevertheyare's are default scenery. I have to say they line up beautifully with GenXv3.. the warships that is. Pity they're not Brit 8) Is there any way to substitute them? I don't care if Brit warships (or a particular type) show up all over the world but I can't have Pompey filled with foreigners

There are 19 placemens of four different default ships from FSX\Scenery\Global\Scenery\vehicles_water.bgl:

If you could find some low-poly British models they could be easily substituted.

Hi George :hello:

I see two of our friends there.. ship_cranes and VEH_destroyer01. I rather like ship_cranes though not where it was living in Portsmouth with the ES file! There are some pretty rough FS9 models (rough by top end standards) which work well as AI in FSX. The only problem is choosing the right one for the job. I'll have a hey-diddle-fiddle and see what I can ruin

Thanks mate.. much appreciated ;)

If, like me, you hate the default ferry terminals,

You can download http://www.geo-davison.demon.co.uk/Excl ... minals.BGL and place it with the other exclude file and they will disappear:

Hi George :hello:

Thanks for that.. I don't like those terminals either. They look like something from a different world 8)

My first attempt at replacing the American destroyers with alternatives didn't work though I didn't think it would. I think I'll leave Pompey void of shipping (and the ferry terminal) for now ;)

Isn't that 'ferry' a full size cruise liner?

It wouldn't fit there in the real world any better???

Well mate.. the ship you see is a default static cruise liner tied up and embedded in 3 basin so it's moving nowhere.. not even to the ferry terminal at Whale Island. In all the times I've visited Portsmouth in FSX, I've yet to see a ferry tie up at that monstrosity so it's best gone anyway ;)

Don't know if you guys are aware (probably are though), but Simon Swallows Portsmouth highrise scenery for FS2004 is also compatible with FSX (I use it in FSX for my Portsmouth scenery). Has some nice dockyard buildings, a couple of low poly type 23's, Victory, Warrior, and HMS Ark Royal, as well as a moving Ark Royal which sails from Portsmouth to Southampton (it was this that inspired me to create my own Invincible class ships)

Cheers
Gary

Hi Gary and Merry Christmas matey

Not tried Portsmouth Highrise in FSX. Does it work with GenX?

How's the paint coming on your Invince class?? I was only thinking about this a day or so ago *-)
