She looks great matey! really alert for 3 days old! We found it really difficult when Lucy was stuck in the hospital as she was getting really frustraited, she was very glad to get home. First few weeks are difficult, as someone reminded me at the time, sleep deprivation is a torture device

Only thing I would say, is that all these books etc that our women folk read should be ignored as they end up compairing themselves against some celeb or other who has had a baby and thinks thats how all babies should be born / reared. Every one of them is different and just because some book (or in some cases some midwifes) think your "doing it wrong" your almost certainly not, what works for the three of you works. Its a confidence thing, and we didn't really know when Daisy was born, but you get the hang of it. Hope Mum is doing well too mate.

Yes indeed sleep deprevation is completely soul destroying.

Its weird as I'm no stranger to being up all hours of the night with work. This is very different though.

I feel mentally and physically exhausted and also my wife has had a touch of the baby blues this week. Bursting into tears for no reason whatsoever.

Just supporting them as best as I can and doing as much as possible to ensure mother and baby are fine and in the best possible shape.

Ironically, she's given me tonight off and she is on baby duties for one night only.

Gives me a chance to charge my batteries, have a beer and catch up on things.

This is the start of a very very long journey for us. Its already showing us how difficult it is being a parent for the first time.

Its great though. I love a challenge and also can't wait for the baby to give us that first smile.

You certainly have your work cut out now chaps
